One Off Event Insurance

We offer an excellent One-Off Event insurance policy which can offer Public Liability for up to 10,000 visitors and a limit of £10 million, as well as Employers’ Liability of £10 million.

If you are worried about the event being cancelled we can offer cancellation cover as an additional option and this policy can also offer Adverse Weather cover, something which is often a concern in the UK.

Event Property cover can be added too to cover any accidental loss of or physical damage to event equipment. With cover for up to 4 consecutive days per single event, and a single item maximum value of £2,000 this policy is suitable for a wide variety of UK-based one-off events.

What we cover:

Under the one off event policy we can offer you different protections covering all your needs.

The main covers are Public Liability, Employers Liability, Event Equipment Insurance and Event Cancellation Insurance.

Each of these can cover various problems which could occur if you are either organising or attending an event.

Public Liability

This insurance protects the policyholder from claims from members of the public if they claim you are negligent following your involvement with or your organisation of an event. Local authorities/venues will generally want sight of this before allowing an event to take place.

Limits available are £1,000,000, £2,000,000, £5,000,000 or £10,000,000. With the Ogden discount rate we are recommending a minimum of £5,000,000.

What we cover:

We will pay for damages, expenses and claimants costs up to the limit of indemnity stated in the Schedule against any single claim or series of claims arising out of the same incident made against You by third parties for which you are found liable at law for;

  • Bodily Injury (other than Employees);
  • Damage to Property; and
  • The policy will respond to pay damages, claimants costs and expenses as well as offering defence costs.
  • Public liability can be in place when you are setting up and have taken occupation of your venue, as well as when your event is open to visitors.
  • Some of the things we don’t cover (refer to the full wording for full list)
  • Claims which are under £250, as this is the excess of the policy.
  • Any willful or malicious act or any act of vandalism resulting in damage at or to the Venue;
  • Loss of or Damage to Property belonging to or held in trust by or in the custody or control of the Insured (but this exclusion shall not apply to Employees’ effects);
  • Damage to floors, the ground and/or underground services at the Venue;
  • Third party property damage and/or Bodily Injury to or death, illness or disease of any person caused by or arising from a Dangerous Activity;

Employers Liability

Will you have volunteers, helpers or employees who are working at your event and fall outside of the organising committee? If so Employers Liability is a cover you need.

What we cover:

Under our Employers Liability, we provide cover for your legal liability to pay damages, claimants costs and expenses which arise as a result of an injury to anyone you employ at your event including temporary staff, volunteers or helpers.

It doesn’t matter whether they are paid or unpaid however, they must be under your control and supervision at the time they sustain an injury.

Things we don’t cover:

  • Arising from any security work;
  • Arising from height work in excess of 2.5 metres unless agreed
  • Required to be insured under the Compulsory Motor Insurance provisions of the Road Traffic Acts.

Event Equipment Insurance

There might be things you haven’t yet thought of that we can help you with. For example, is all your equipment working and been PAT tested? If it rai

Event Equipment relates to items which you are bringing to or hiring for the event which do not come as part of the fixtures of fittings of the venue.

What we cover:

  • Accidental Damage; or
  • Accidental loss; or
  • Theft

  • Unexplained losses, discrepancies or stock taking shortages.

Event Cancellation Insurance

If you are organising a corporate away-day, charity benefit or music festival then you will have invested time and probably money that you do not want to lose. In situations like these, the right level of Event cancellation insurance can provide reassurance and protection.

Event Cancellation insurance is written individually for one event (or for multiple events in one policy) and is designed to protect you against any losses that you might face.

What we cover:

Our standard cover provides cover for your irrecoverable costs incurred as a result of the unavoidable cancellation, abandonment or postponement of your event for reasons beyond your control.

There are additional extensions which aren’t standard where we would need additional information but we can offer cover for circumstances such as:

  • Coverage for lost revenue following the cancellation of your event
  • Cancellation because of adverse weather conditions
  • Cancellation because of a performer, key speaker or person not attending the event
  • Cancellation caused by terrorism or the threat of terrorism

Circumstances which you are not covered for:

  • The failure of a supplier where your booking arrangements are not confirmed in writing.
  • Any situation which you are aware of, before you take out the insurance, which could be expected to or are likely to cause your event to cancel. This can include medical conditions, the current condition of the venue or the known financial troubles of a supplier.
  • No weather related protection can be offered if the start date of the event is within fourteen days.
  • Refer to the full policy wording for a full list of Dangerous Activities, exclusions and what we mean by certain terms. It is important that you read this before you opt to take out insurance with us to ensure that you are adequately covered for your event and that our insurance policy meetings your needs.
